In 1913, a writer saw pink elephants drift across his ceiling and put them on the page. It was the first hallucination to enter literature — and it never left. A century later, those elephants have outlived their author, their century, and most of what was real that year. That's what a good hallucination does. It outlasts the reality that refused it.
The flying pink elephant is our patron saint. The original glitch. The first image imagination produced just because it could.
